The Stranger & Vitamin Water 'Worn Out' Fashion Show
Video projection installation and djing
"The Stranger's first-ever fashion show, Worn Out, stars the handpicked roster of local designers, along with their gigantic bubbles of tulle, swaths of gold polyester, wads of fur, and strands of lace. The show—on Friday, April 8, at ACT Theatre—is a collaboration with the makeup and hair artists at VAIN and the audiovisual magicians of Dumb Eyes." —The Stranger
Smile Tribe
Interactive video installation/event for Seattle Art Museum
In November 2010, the Seattle Art Museum approached Dumb Eyes to create an art installation / event for SAM Remix to coincide with the opening of Nick Cave's - Meet Me At The Center of the Earth exhibition in April 2011.
Smile Tribe
Mask to be decorated by patrons of the Seattle Art Museum
Our idea to create an interactive art project involving live video feedback and the simple, fun art activity of creating classic paper-plate masks took cues from the way in which Cave's work appropriates found objects and elements of pop-culture. As part of our twist, we had masks manufactured as tromp l'oeil paper-plates with smiley faces and prismatic eyehole cut-outs. Looking through the masks creates a rainbow refraction of light — adding to the fun.

Participants were given a vast array of materials to create their masks, from pom-poms, buttons, beads, to mylar shred, tulle and magazine clippings etc. After decorating their masks, participants were filmed with their masks which was then manipulated live and projected in the activity area and throughout SAM.
The event was wildly successful and SAM asked us to repeat the event for ART ATTACK, a night for teens.
Penetration
Projection stills through prism glasses
"The debauched brainchild of Dumb Eyes' project manager Michael Ellsworth, creative director Christian Petersen, and web architect Corey Gutch, Penetration had a successful yearlong run at Capitol Hill bar Bus Stop before ending in February. An increasing workload forced Dumb Eyes to take a hiatus, but now the principals are ready to resurrect the night at the new Unicorn bar for what could be an even more potent display of their audiovisual mindfuckery." —The Stranger

"Once every month, when Second Thursday rides high, the Unicorn decks itself out in hot people, gives them groovy 3-D specs, and projects super-'shroomy psychedelia all over them, the walls, their hotness, their specs, and so forth—drowning everything in spinning music and light." —The Stranger
Lady Miss Kier show at Pony
Event Visuals
We created a multi-screen video installation for the completely sold-out Lady Miss Kier DJ set at the legendary Pony. The children were gagging.
I WANT YOU X PERNOD ABSINTHE present GREEN DREAMS
Event production and design
To celebrate the release of I Want You Issue 5, we held a private party at Grim's courtesy of our gracious magazine sponsor, Pernod Absinthe. We created new visual projections for the event including a slideshow of I Want You images from all issues. Hundreds of enthusiastic friends and fans showed up and made the event a shining success.
