User Experience Explorations
In 2009, Microsoft’s Worldwide Support Team approached Dumb Eyes with the task of exploring the possibilities of the support user experience in blue sky scenarios. We spent nine months developing three unique solutions based on user personas that ranged from Millennials to Boomers.
Each solution relieved the burden on the user by removing the complexity and frustration that plagues this experience. Each solution emphasized first contact resolution, brokered third-party content tools and functionality, incorporated self-healing technologies and was sustainable through dynamic creation of user support content. The experience for the user was simple and humane and empowered the user through self learning, suggestions and connection to community and support professionals. The ultimate goal was to anticipate the user needs, and in best cases, resolve the problem without the user even being aware there was one.
We delivered the Microsoft team with conceptual briefs, user profiles, detailed workflow diagrams and wireframe prototypes for each experience.
